  1. Many thanks!!
I have fix the Problem for the last Release.
I have remove the kmod-ltq-adsl-ar9-fw-a_0.1-1_lantiq.ipk and install via telnet the kmod-ltq-adsl-ar9-fw-b_0.1-1_lantiq.ipk
    and now it works fine.

    1. Yes, that is a solution but since it's a squashfs image if you reset the router if will load the fw-a.

I suggest you to flash this one because it is a annex B firmware (with no mistake this time ;) ) and there is NTFS support (if you use it)

  5. I'd love to use OpenWRT on my WBMR HP-G300-H (at the moment it's got stock firmware). I live in Italy and I get my ADSL through a standard "phone" plug coming from the telephone line. That would be Annex A, right?

How should I go about flashing the unit? Is there a howto I can follow?

I will be grateful for any info you can provide.

    1. Yes, you need the Annex A build.

First you need to flash this DD-WRT build --> http://www.dd-wrt.com/routerdb/de/download/Buffalo/WBMR-HP-G300H/%20/BUFFALO_TO_DD-WRT_wbmr-hp-g300h-firmware.bin/3888

After it reboots (wait 5 minutes) you have to enable SSH from webgui (I don't remember how to reach the page..but it is not too hard to find ;) ).
With WinSCP (windows) copy the file to the folder /tmp/ or "scp squashfilename.image root@192.168.1.1:/tmp/ " (check with "df -h" the right place with free space, I remember it was /tmp/) (linux).
Now use putty (windows)/ log into ssh from terminal (linux) and go to the /tmp/(or where you copied it) and do this command:

      mtd -r write squashfilename.image linux

When finished it will reboot automatically, and I suggest you to wait 3-5 minutes on the first boot.

*check your movie engine switch is OFF. Otherwise it will reboot on every boot*

    2. Thanks for giving the how-to and providing the images. Just what i was looking for.

I have one question. Once OpenWRT has been installed, is it possible to go back to the original firmware by Buffalo?

    3. You can't go back to the official firmware.

  6. Thanks for your reply, Giuseppe!

I've downloaded your latest Annex A build (r35047) and proceeded to flash dd-wrt as you advised before going on with openwrt.

However, I get tftp timeouts no matter which client I use or which power-on sequence I try on the router. Yes, I've read and followed instructions on dd-wrt installation (http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Installation) and specifically for Buffalo hardware (http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Buffalo), but to no avail.

Can I flash that dd-wrt (http://www.dd-wrt.com/routerdb/de/download/Buffalo/WBMR-HP-G300H/%20/BUFFALO_TO_DD-WRT_wbmr-hp-g300h-firmware.bin/3888) into the Buffalo using the web interface "update firmware" option, or will I brick the router if I try?

    1. Yes, you have to use the "update firmware" option (forgot to say that).

  7. I managed to flash dd-wrt and then openwrt, so now I'm looking forward to several days of configuring, learning, configuring, learning and so on.
Your help has been precious - I wouldn't have managed without it.
    THANKS A LOT, Giuseppe! :-)

    1. Glad to hear it ;)

I am waiting the new openvpn and I will build a new build ;)

Bad news is on the 24th of this month I'm going to Tokyo for a few months, so I can't give you an ETA.

  9. I still haven't managed to configure DSL - can't see an aal5 or atm device to attach to the WAN interface yet - but I was expecting some study to be necessary; it's almost part of the fun. I'll be sure to download the newer build when you make it available. In the future I'm planning to set up a VPN so I can "call home" when I'm far away without too much fear of intrusions. I also would like to set up multiple wireless networks (multi SSID's), with a "guest" network that can reach the WAN but not the LAN. Thanks again :)
